The Cottage in the Garden by the Sea
natural style - simple elegance
Welcome to Croft Garden Cottage - a simple 19th century croft house offering contemporary self-catering holiday accommodation on the north west coast of South Uist in the beautiful Outer Hebrides. Built to withstand north Atlantic gales, Croft Garden Cottage is now a delightful coastal retreat just for two. The old croft house has been sympathetically refurbished combining contemporary luxury with traditional simplicity.
Croft Garden Cottage provides the tranquillity and space from which to enjoy the island’s dramatic landscapes and exceptional wildlife. The cottage sits at the heart of a traditional South Uist croft, amidst coastal meadows fringed by rocky outcrops and ribbons of silver sand. Lean on the garden wall and your gaze will be drawn to the Monach Isles and beyond to St. Kilda, then to Mingulay and Barra in the south.
Linger and be seduced by the murmur of the waves, and risk enchantment by the song of the seals. Walk along the deserted beach for mile after mile; or wander farther afield and explore the other southern isles of the Outer Hebrides.
Whether you wish to discover the island’s wonderful wildlife or archaeology, immerse yourself in the Hebridean culture and landscape, walk, cycle, play golf, or fish, Croft Garden Cottage is the perfect environment for relaxing in comfort and style.
